A Year to Remember: Reflections from the Head Girl Team

As our time as the Head Girl Team comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on how incredible the last year has been. When we first took on our roles last March, the three of us sat down and asked ourselves what our core values would be that would drive us on. We soon came to the conclusion that we would focus on inclusivity through kindness by being accessible and approachable to all. With this in mind, we have strived to make a meaningful impact throughout the year, ensuring that everything we did reflected these values.

We all agree that hosting GlastonAbbey last summer was one of the highlights of the year, and performing our opening dance to Super Trouper by ABBA in our Mamma Mia costumes was a memory we’ll never forget. Hosting our very first ‘Quizmas’ at the end of the autumn term was also an amazing experience, where we saw teams of pupils and staff competing head-to-head in a series of fun and engaging rounds. From Christmas dances in Big School to setting up the Galantines board, we feel a strong sense of pride in everything we’ve been able to accomplish.

Being part of the Head Girl Team has truly been one of the most fulfilling opportunities and a privilege. We’ve had the chance to meet and work alongside some inspiring members of the Wycombe Abbey community, from the wonderful staff to the devoted prefect team, and we have learned many new skills along the way, especially the importance of effective communication and working collaboratively.

Finally, we wish the next Head Girl Team the best of luck. We know they’ll continue to embody the School’s values and embrace every opportunity they’re given.
