Welcome to Pitt
Previously situated in the Main Abbey building, two new purpose-built Houses, Pitt and Rubens, were officially opened in September 2017 having been built on the site of our old swimming pool. Our home is impressive, light and modern. We have around 60 pupils from ages 12 to 17 with plenty of communal work and living spaces on the ground floor including music practice rooms, a kitchen and a drawing-room.
Pitt House took its name from William Pitt, Britain’s youngest Prime Minister. He was a guest of the first Lord Carrington at Wycombe Abbey, and to recognise the visit, part of the Abbey was named after him, later becoming the original Boarding House. Our colour is yellow; naturally bright, a sign of spring and new life, something which every pupil undertakes when starting their Wycombe Abbey journey.
Pitt is a close community where you will thrive: everyone is respected as an individual. You will soon get to know pupils across all the year groups from living in mixed-age dorms. This is strengthened through having a House Mother and Tutor Group Buddy to answer all your day-to-day questions.
Many House events are arranged both on and off-site whether this be baking in the evenings, a quiz session or going out to the theatre, these social opportunities will mean that you can chat to pupils across the year groups, creating a strong family atmosphere around the House.
