Paving the Way for Women in Engineering and Construction: Dr Roni Savage’s Inspiring Talk

Dr Roni Savage stood behind a lectern, presenting.

This March, we were delighted to welcome Dr Roni Savage to speak to our Sixth Form about her inspiring career in the male-dominated fields of construction and engineering. She shared anecdotes about mistaken identities during her early days at work, alongside valuable guidance for those wanting to start their own businesses. Encouraging pupils to think big, she emphasised that confidence and dynamism are key to success. We were delighted that she stayed for an extended Q&A session, discussing obstacles she had overcome and the strangest things she had seen on a building site! She kindly took the time to speak individually with pupils interested in pursuing a career in engineering, leaving pupils with a reinvigorated sense of enthusiasm for the sector.
